At Sarris Winery, we invite you to experience a unique viticultural contrast. Our '6 O'Clock Wine Tasting' is a celebration of Kefalonia’s diverse landscape, bringing the wild, high-altitude character of the mountains to our serene seaside terrace.
High-Altitude Viticulture
While you sit and enjoy the expansive sea views from our winery, the wines in your glass tell a story of the clouds and the stone. Our vineyards are located on the rugged slopes of Mount Ainos, the island’s highest peak. Growing grapes at this altitude allows for a slower ripening process, resulting in wines with exceptional acidity, intense aromas, and a mineral complexity that is truly world-class. During the tasting, we will explain how the cool mountain air and limestone soils shape our signature Robola and other local varieties.
The Golden Hour Tasting
The experience takes place at the perfect time of day. As the 6 o'clock sun begins its descent, casting a golden light over the Ionian Sea, you will be guided through a flight of six premium wines and a glass of 'WineGroni', our wine cocktail. This selection is designed to show the full range of our craft—from crisp, bone-dry whites that echo the salinity of the nearby coast to expressive reds that carry the strength of the mountain sun.
A Curated Culinary Pairing
To enhance the nuances of each wine, we provide a selection of traditional Kefalonian cheeses and olive oils. We source our pairings from local producers to ensure an authentic taste of the island.
