The Chios Mastic Museum is the ideal place to learn all about mastic, the technique of the gum mastic tree's traditional cultivation, and the product's history, the evolution of the pre-industrial and industrial ways of production, exploitation and marketing of mastic.
Emphasis is also given on the means and ways of how the mastic products travel around the world in our days. The museum's experience is completed at their outdoors area, where visitors can actually see the plants and the natural environment in which they thrive.
The Museum is located in Southern Chios, on the hill of Rachi (Tepeki), in the Pyrgio region. The broader area is also locally called the Mastichochoria.
