Description

The tour is for those seeking relaxation and a little excitement. You will get to know all the about the Dragon Houses and the “creatures” that built them. The ones we are going to visit are the best preserved and consist of three farmhouse type buildings, dating from Classical to Hellenistic times. We will walk along the ancient carved stone track that was used to cart the large boulders from the quarries to the port of Styra. You will travel back in time and you can leave your imagination recreate what it would be like pushing those big rocks down the hill. A unique adventure experience, full of energetic vibes. This is a 2022 fresh and updated version of the tour we used to take since 2013, well planned and suitable even for families with youths 10+. Even for the NON hikers, as the composition of the trip will give people the chance to relax at the main square of Styra while those wishing to hike will get a head start. The whole group will assemble at the end just after everyone has visited the Dragon House and have 1,5 hours of free time to have a lunch or meal at the local fantastic taverns. Total length : 4km Total Elevation Gain/loss : 290 m / 290 m Duration Walking / Total : 2-3 h Itinerary • 08:00 – Departure for Eretria port • 09:00 – Pickup from Nea Styra port • 09:30 – Arrive at Styra, bakery stop & water fill-up • 09:45 – Start of the Hiking tour • 11:45 – NON hikers visit to the Dragon House • 13:15 – End of tour. Optional meal at local restaurant below large plain trees • 15:00 – Departure from Styra • 16:00 –16:30 Return to hotel
