Embark on a scenic 9 km hike through the serene Imbros Gorge, Crete’s second largest and one of its most accessible natural wonders. Your adventure begins with a comfortable hotel pickup and a relaxing drive into the White Mountains. Upon arrival, you’ll have time to enjoy breakfast before starting your gentle 2.5-hour trail — ideal for families and nature lovers.
Walk along the historic path once used as the main route between Sfakia and Chania, and explore iconic landmarks such as the “Airplane,” “Stenada,” “Mesofarango,” and the impressive “Xepitira Arch.” The gorge’s rich history — including its role as an escape route for Allied soldiers during the 1941 Battle of Crete — adds depth to your adventure.
As the gorge narrows dramatically to less than 2 meters, marvel at the towering rock walls before reaching Komitades village, where transportation awaits.
