Description

Begin your adventure with a pickup from your accommodation and a scenic drive to Gouverneto Monastery, one of Crete's oldest monasteries. As this is an active monastery, modest clothing is required. After exploring the monastery, begin your guided hike through the historic Katholiko Gorge. Visit Bear Cave (Arkoudospilio), Katholiko Monastery, the Cave of Saint John the Hermit, and Avlaki Gorge. The trail ends at the secluded beach of Avlaki, where you'll have time for an optional swim in the crystal-clear waters. After your break, hike back along the same scenic trail to Gouverneto Monastery, where your vehicle will be waiting. From there, travel by vehicle to Agia Triada Monastery, where you'll enjoy free time to visit the monastery church and peaceful courtyards, explore the monastery museum, browse the monastery shop, and enjoy an optional wine tasting (additional cost). After your visit, relax on the return transfer to your accommodation. Guests who choose the optional speedboat upgrade will be collected directly from Avlaki Beach by speedboat instead of hiking back to Gouverneto Monastery. Cruise along the spectacular Akrotiri coastline, discovering hidden beaches, sea caves, and secluded coves before arriving at Marathi Marina, where the vehicle will meet the group and continue to Agia Triada Monastery for the final visit before returning to your accommodation.
